Bleeding Heart Tetra


The Bleeding Heart Tetra gets its name from the markings on its body. The blushing red near the gills gives this South American fish a "bleeding heart" look. This fish originates in Thailand and can grow up to two inches maximum. It is a peaceful fishthat is easy to care for.

Neon Tetra


This very popular freshwater tetra comes from the clear water streams of South America. Generally iridescent blue with a bright red tail, the Neon Tetra is a peaceful fish that will make a great addition to a community aquarium. It averages ¾ to 1¼ of an inch in length.

Black Swordtail / Red Swordtail


Swordtails are hardy and colorful fish that make a wonderful addition to the passive community aquarium. Swordtails are easy to breed, and new color varieties are developed through selective breeding programs. The fish acquired the name from the long sword like fin that protrudes from the male's tail. In order to reduce aggression among them it is ideal to maintain a small school of 5 or more fish in the aquarium. Swordtails add interest and color to the passive community aquarium, and make a perfect addition for the novice to expert alike. Our aquarium has a red and a black swordtail.

Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami


The Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami, is a color variation of the Dwarf Gourami, and is a peaceful, shy fish. If in a pair the two fish will swim together. The Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami has a bright iridescent sheen to its body, more prominent in the male. The coloration of the male is a vivid turquoise blue with orange-red stripes. Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis are considered Labyrinth Fish, meaning they breathe directly from the air, and must have access to the surface. Two inches is the maximum length of this fish.

Zebra Danio

The Zebra Danio is a long-time favorite among freshwater aquarists. Kept in groups, this active community fish will make a great addition to the aquarium. These fish are silver or gold with bright blue/purple lines. Found predominately in Malaysia, Sumatra, China, and India most species are farm raised in both the Far East and the U.S. Danios require plenty of swimming room and a tight fitting lid, as they are prone to leaping out of the aquarium when startled.

Black Phantom Tetra


The Black Phantom Tetra is a very peaceful, schooling fish that comes from the regions of Central Brazil. Receiving its name from its black translucent coloring, the hardy Black Phantom Tetra is great for any community aquarium. Males of the species will have a higher dorsal fin, and display a more brilliant coloration. This fish averages two inches in length.

Lemon Tetra

The lemon tetra is a golden yellow color with the top half of the eyes a deep red. The front part of the anal fin is bright yellow and is edged with black. This is said to be a curious fish. These fish are found in Iquitos, Peru. The male has a more pointed dorsal fin. These fish will swim in all areas of the aquarium and can grow to two inches long.

Red Minor Tetra


Red Minor Tetras have a beautiful reddish color with the black spot behind their gills. The fins are mostly black with tips of white.These fish are found in the Amazon river, in the Madeira and Guapore regions, and upper Paraguay. The average length is 1¾ of an inch.

Elegans Cory Catfish

The Elegans Cory Cat, also known as the Elegant Cory, comes from the tributaries of larger river systems in Central and South America, and is a peaceful bottom dwelling scavenger. The Elegans is silver to gold with a main black stripe running horizontally from the back of the head to the tail. This catfish averages a length of ¾ to 1½ inches.
